Provided input on a committee that investigated the biasness of the Virginia Reading Assessment (VRA). The VRA will be used in the Plan to Implement The Resolution to Enhance the Teaching of Reading in Virginia. The session in October focused on the assessments blueprint.

Served on a validation and standard setting panel for teacher licensure that investigated the Praxis Series. I was asked to review tests in a content area for special education. As a panelist, I reviewed the proposed tests for relevance to the job of beginning special education teachers of students with learning disabilities in Virginia and recommended to the Virginia Department of Education what a required passing standard score would be on the test.
